CAMPSITES IN THE PARK : RICHTERSBER CAMP SITE
Richtersberg is the third designated riverside camping site, but the flat areas are only accesible when the water level is low. The river is broad with large trees lining much of the steep river bank, limiting the areas for camping. At high water level all suitable campsites are above the beach, set away from the water. Richtersberg campsite is also known as Tata’s River campsite.

Further east along the river, Richtersberg is also a special spot, right on the water. There isn't as much grass as at De Hoop and not as much shade, but the river view is more commanding and there is less wind during the afternoons - a critical factor in summer when sand and dust can ruin a quiet nap.
  • As for De Hoop, this camp, which lies on the banks of the river, has been upgraded with ablutions (cold showers) to service 12 Campsites.
